Hello, dearheart,
I am so glad you’re here.
Permission Granted is a reader-supported sanctuary for the sovereignty inclined. It’s a space for provocateurs, renegades, and the otherwise incendiary. A haven for creatives, truth-tellers, and tender rebels reclaiming their voice. And most of all, it is an invitation to those in the midst of a reckoning, a burn down, a brave reclamation, a free-fall into grief and the healing on the other side.
My Substack blends radical honesty, uninhibited compassion, embodied writing, and sovereign storytelling for those learning (and yearning) to live and write on their own terms.
Enter here, all are welcome. Grab a space by the fire, I’ll get you some tea. Exhale now, there’s room for all of you here.
xo,

ABOUT ME
Official Bio (the third-person one that makes me sound super important)
Jeanette spent most of her life working very hard to be a good girl. One day she woke up and decided to write her way out of her own life—things haven’t been the same since. Single mama to two ridiculously unruly daughters, Jeanette believes in the smooth honey burn of whiskey, the crashing of mama ocean, pencil skirts, vintage band tees and badass boots, the kinship of the wild wolf, walking for miles in unfamiliar cities, the singular power of dark red lipstick, and the necessity of putting out for the muse on the regular. Oh, yes—and that sometimes our stories are the only things that can save us.
Jeanette is the author of You Are Not Too Much | Love Notes On Heartache, Redemption, and Reclamation - available at all major online retailers.
YOU SHOULD KNOW:
I swear like a sailor, I've been called a word-witch (more than once), I believe wholeheartedly in the power of your voice, and think words are as necessary as air. I work with humans who are seeking permission to stop seeking permission and offer programs that will get living and writing on your own terms (for reals).
Permission; Granted is a space for the exploration of what it means to claim a life of one’s own.
What is the nature of our pull to sovereignty?
How do we learn to trust in the wisdom of our want?
Where does the howl live in our bodies and how do we set it free in a world that would prefer we keep such things tucked away in the closet?
How do we give ourselves over to that which calls us in the face of wounding and trauma and triggers and the staggering risk of being here and alive and human?
I want this to be a space of radical honesty. Of dismantling and untangling and undoing. Where the messiness and rawness of life are not only welcomed but celebrated.
